As we celebrate National Walk Your Dog Week, we can’t help but notice how much has changed since COVID.
Amy Wolfe – owner of Wolfie's Dog Walking in Sharon, MA – understands that. Amy, like many others in the industry, has had to adapt to continue serving clients safely and effectively during the pandemic.
“A lot of the situations we’re dealing with now are handoffs, but some of our clients are not home,” she explained. “We carefully wash hands as much as possible, and we are wearing masks if we’re coming into contact with pet parents, and of course, respecting social distancing.”
She’s even set up a playdate service for all the new puppies coming home in the pandemic.
Amy stresses the value of professional dog walking even if clients are now working from home. “It guarantees that your dog goes out on a regular schedule,” she said. “Animals like schedules and routine just like humans. It’s just a great way to ensure that they get their exercise in case you get caught up with work.”
Amy came to pet care in 2017 after 20 years as a nanny. A lifelong animal lover, She started with one partner – her Yorkie, Winston. “He’s 12 yrs old, and he is my everything,” she said. “He watches me do everything and comes with me on most of the walks. He’s just my little sidekick.”

Amy and Winston started the hard way – pounding the pavement. Business cards left with a local vet led to her first client, and word of mouth took over. Today, she has two walkers working with her.
“I love that I get unconditional excitement, happiness, and love every day,” said Amy. “And it’s so nice to be appreciated by my human clients too. I have very close relationships with my clients, because they know that I truly care.”
Amy also feels more professional using PetPocketbook. “Before, if I was with a client and they wanted to request a service, I had to say, ‘Hold on, let me get my planner out of the car.’ Now I can just pull it up on my phone, and tell them right then and there if I’m available. I love how I’m able to keep everything organized.”
Glad we could help with the admin so that you focus on getting out there with the pups!
