Happy National Walk Your Dog Month! đž
We all know how important regular exercise is to keep our dogs healthy. And if they get to run around during the day, theyâre also less likely to act out later, so itâs a win-win for everyone! The challenge comes when our busy schedules keep us from taking our pups out to work out their canine energy. Regular walks are essential, but so are running and socialization. Thatâs where JCâs Dog Walking comes in.Â
âWe specialize in off-leash hikes, pack walks, drop-ins, and sitting,â said co-owner Gaby Guarisco, whose business is based in Arlington, MA. âWe do large pack walks with 15 to 20 dogs off-leash, or pack walks with seven to eight dogs. We take them to a hidden gem in the woods in Woburn where they can see their friends and have the freedom of running around off-leash.â
To some people, the idea of supervising a dozen unleashed dogs might seem daunting, but not to Gaby.
âThe nice thing about them being outside is that they have more space to roam and we can practice recall with them. If they do run into someone, we make sure they donât run up to them. We have dogs that werenât socialized in the beginning, but now theyâre playing with dogs off-leash.â
âPet parents love that weâre really hands-on and have consistency,â she said. âWe try to work on behavioral issues and training while the dogs are with us.â
Managing JCâs client base of 80 dogs is made infinitely easier with PetPocketbook. âBecause weâre hands-on, we donât have time to manage payments and invoicing,â said Gaby. âPetPocketbook makes scheduling a lot easier as well. Clients who are on the same day every week are automatically on our schedule. Pet parents also love the fact that they can pay with a credit card, which makes our lives easier too!â
Thereâs a line on the JCâs Dog Walking home page that says it all: âTired Dog = Good Dog.â So in the spirit of National Walk Your Dog Month, letâs make every pup a good pup! đ
